Fittingly, in 2012 John Holland was awarded the prestigious International Tunnelling Contractor of the Year Award from the International Tunnelling Association.John Holland holds industry-leading skills across the water sector, including water treatment, wastewater treatment, desalination, water recycling and reuse, bulk water catchment, water and wastewater transfer, pipeline network distribution and irrigation. We have extensive experience in dam construction, including blasting, rock bolting and complex concrete structures, along with the delivery of concrete works underwater using methodologies such as cofferdams, sheet piles, drilled piles and caisson techniques, and the installation of structural and mass concrete works.We have extensive knowledge and experience in the energy and power sectors, including design and construction services for gas, coal, wind, hydro, solar and industrial power plants, as well as the construction of nuclear facilities and high voltage power transmission infrastructure. We are a major supplier of upgrade and maintenance services for existing power plants and transmission line projects, ranging from 66kV through to 500kV systems.In resources, we have built an impressive list of successful projects in the minerals and industrial sectors, including stockyards, wharves, jetties, ship berths and ship-loading systems. We deliver complex multi-discipline rail projects and specialist projects covering operations, construction, maintenance and renewals of track, signalling, overhead line, stations, structures and tunnelling in both live operational environments and greenfield sites.In New South Wales, John Holland is delivering a 10-year operation, management and contract for country railway lines across the state, including 2,700 kilometres of operational freight and passenger lines and 3,100 kilometres of non-operational lines, 27,000 hectares of land, 600 under-bridges and 384 level crossings. In Victoria, we are part of the team operating and maintaining the Melbourne metropolitan rail network and, in Western Australia, we are a long standing provider of inspection and maintenance services to Westnet and the Public Transport Authority over 14 years.Elsewhere in transport services, we operate Australia’s largest independent Maintenance and Repair Organisation (MRO) to the aviation sector.
