Reporting to the General Manager, you will be given autonomy in your role to lead and develop the Western Australian Tendering Hub ensuring the delivery of winning tenders and quality estimates to continue the growth of the business. Duties not limited to:
Leading and developing the RIS-W tendering and estimating team enhancing organisational capability for the long term.
Managing the forward pipeline of tender opportunities, facilitating robust go/no go processes and forecasting bid team resource requirements
Ensuring Downer OM&S bid process and estimating standards are embedded
Effectively managing tender selection, governance and approvals
Keeping abreast of current competitive pricing, new techniques and cost trends.
Ensuring effective contract handover by supplying project delivery teams with clear, concise documentation at contract commencement.
Supporting the whole of business tender delivery by working as one with the Growth & Development team and other Tendering Hubs.
Looking for continuous improvement and reduction in costs with the tendering and submissions process
Preparing monthly management reporting and statistics on tender performance.
Experience & Skill
5+ years’ experience in leading, developing and driving teams to win business.
10+ years’ preparing and managing tenders
Experience in structural mechanical, piping and electrical construction and maintenance
Ability to effectively review and qualify tenders, understand metric and benchmarking data, and the qualification and quantification of risks
Technically and commercially astute with solid understanding of contracts
Excellent knowledge of best practice tender management and estimating processes
Knowledge of tender and submission production processes
Solid understanding of sound business development processes
Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
Excellent time and project management skills
Influencing and negotiation skills
